Well let's just say I've had my worst falls in them and mostly on the first day of the riding week. I love these riding trousers. They are very comfortable and great for summer, but yes, I've had a few falls while wearing them. I am not at all superstitious so I continue to wear them, even on the first day of the riding week.
One of the worst falls was from Ermi. I don't know what got into him. He squealed, took off, starting bucking. I stayed on for quite a few bucks, but then he turned suddenly and bucked and I went flying into jumps. I couldn't ride for six weeks because I had whiplash and a very badly bruised leg. When I did get back on him I was a nervous mess and ended up riding a school horse until I gained my confidence again. But it happens. It's part of horse riding. You will fall.
I've even been thrown off a school horse in them. Everything was good. I was cantering. The school horse got excited and I just ignored it. Felt quite happy that I rode through his excitement until he went into a gallop and decided to turn suddenly and stopped. Well he went one way. Me. I went the opposite direction and actually rolled and stopped faced down. I wasn't too badly hurt but yeah whiplash again. This is why I wear a body vest. I've had quite a few people question why I, as an adult, wear one. Well if I wasn't wearing one during those two falls I would most likely have broken a rib or collar bone or a shoulder. Instead I was just bruised.
I can happily say that I've learnt to fall better and my recent one I almost managed to land on my feet! So I am getting better at falling at least and getting back on faster with no anxiety.
