Mind your feet

So last Friday we went for a hack. I was pretty excited about going and felt like I needed it to relax and just chill in nature. Well it was short lived.

The hack started out fine. Until Ermi stopped. Pinned his ears back and stood rigidly still. Then he began to stomp one foot angrily. So I dismounted thinking that he got something in his boot. I checked and there didn't seem to be anything. So I continued to walk him by hand and he seemed fine but a bit excited. Ahead of me was Elina with Kalishi. Well Kalishi spooked because of a bird in a bush and that caused Whisper with Sophia to canter off with his head between his legs. It was quite funny. Actually I was laughing. So once those two got over their ordeal we kept heading back to the farm. All good until now. But...BUT...

Ermi somehow managed to step on the inside of my foot causing me to fall and then proceeded to walk over me and go and eat grass. Sophia's first reaction was to yell at me to get Ermi before he runs off. Me? I was on the floor in so much pain! I thought my foot was broken. Elina was up ahead and heard Sophia shouting so she came back and dismounted and had the pleasure of walking Ermi and Kalishi back to the farm. Sophia and Whisper trotted back while I sat on the floor trying not to scream from the pain.

Anyway I called Antonis, the farm owner, and casually said, "can you come with the car and picked me up from the floor?" It's quite funny now when I look back at it. So from there my husband came and picked me up and we went to the A&E where they xrayed my foot and nothing was broken just extremely bruised. So happy about that.

I am still limping around almost a week later but grateful that it wasn't worse! So yes mind those feet. To be honest it was a strange occurance as I was standing on the side of the horse so I am not sure how he managed to step on the inside of my right foot. But hey...it was just one of those random things that happen. Take care x
