Closure

Eight years is a long time to spend in an environment. We became family. We were actively involved with all the school horses. We built friendships. We had some great times, but the owner of the barn made wrong choices. Not concerning horse care or barn management. Personal choices, which led to the closure of a successful business. It was hard, frustrating, sad, and shocking to say the least.
So six months after we got Whisper we had no choice but to move to another riding school. Leaving behind school horses that we loved. One of them being Ermis. Ah the pain I can still feel it. I will say one thing though... my kids have learnt so many life lessons since they have been in the horse world. Many quite painful but it has helped them grow and develop character.
We didn't even have time to check out the place we were moving too. We just arranged a trailer with a friend who was also moving to the same riding school and that was that.
Trailering Whisper was difficult. I had no idea how to do it and he was being difficult. The trailer driver struggled and so did we. We tried for 45 mins. He got loose and ran around the farm several times and so we had to resort to using a whip and lunge line to push him in. It wasn't pretty but it worked. And off we went to the unknown.
Take care x
